Fill the mould with a cake batter suited to your recipe, then bake it according to the preparation’s instructions. Once the cake has cooled, flex the silicone gently to release its defined shape. Next, add glaze, a coating or a line of nuts and other garnishes along the top. For example, the finished cake pictured uses a pale green finish and pistachios over a golden cake base. You can keep the decoration restrained or build contrasting colours and textures for a pastry display.
